1999 October: referer statistics search engines top 100 hitparade

GOTO has a very interesting system to bid on search terms. We did not invest 1 cent in this. GOTO achieved alone with the unpaid free ranking place 5 in our referer hit parade.

Total referers found in referer log files from all our own domains, and design and seminar customers hosted on our server. This only counts visitors coming from a link or a search engine. This does not count repeated visitors from bockmarks and visitors typing direct the URL (from newspaper or so)43575 2 visitors per pixel

1999 November: The Altavista database disaster

After being from October 1998 to October 1999 our most important search engine, Altavista lost top by a severe own fault: Their database forgot suddenly a huge number of sites.
